This refers to any person who has a number of injuries caused by a direct blow mechanism on any body's structure or injury to any body’s structure caused by the action of an object on them, such as: stab wounds, or firearm wounds.

Our service focuses on actions to make a quick and accurate assessment of the lesions caused by a mechanism of trauma, so we can immediately start to stabilize and/or specific resuscitation, if necessary.

One of them is our attention in a predetermined sequence of assessment and treatment of trauma, which follows international recommendations for providing Advanced Life Support for Trauma Patients, which compliance ensures that the trauma patient is treated comprehensively in the time range that is known as "THE GOLDEN HOUR," which are the first sixty minutes between the start of the event and the implementation of the first actions for advanced resuscitation.

In addition, an initial assessment following a protocol enables us to ensure control of vital structures and functions for the patient such as: the preservation of the airway with simultaneous protection of the cervical spine; the handling and protection of pulmonary ventilation; control of circulation of the cardiovascular system along with the maximum limitation of blood loss; assessment of central and peripheral nervous system and timely care to any other organ or body structure that is damaged.

Some of the conditions in which this care takes place are: Traumatic brain injury, face trauma, injury by firearm or stabbing, thoracic trauma, abdominal trauma, pelvic trauma, trauma to limbs, and any combination thereof, which is what finally is called multi-trauma.
